Cala Homes (South) Ltd’s long-running legal battle with the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has now reached the Court of Appeal.
Cala Homes is challenging the Government’s claim that its intention to abolish the Regional Strategies should be considered by local planning authorities when ruling on planning applications.
Cala Homes, which successfully won a judicial review back in November 2010, was defeated in the High Court in February 2011 (click here for full details), but given permission to appeal the ruling.
The appeal began on 5 May and was expected to conclude today (6 May), with the decision reserved until a later date. I will post full details of the ruling in due course.
